Two weeks before the final game of American football, unknown persons kidnap the main mascot of the Miami Dolphins, nicknamed Snowball, from Joe Robie Stadium (near the Dolphin Stadium). Mr. Riddle, the team's coach, realizing that if the team's mascot is absent during the game, the players' mood will worsen, and under these conditions, they will lose an important game of the season. Mr. Riddle orders general manager Roger Podacter (Troy Evans) and chief press secretary Melissa Robinson (Courteney Cox) to return the dolphin, or he will fire them. The team's secretary advises Melissa to seek help from Ace Ventura. After meeting with Melissa and Podacter, Ace Ventura goes down to the pool where Snowball once swam and finds the first evidence of the crime. Ace learns that a certain Ronald Kemp lives in town, who is a successful businessman and collector of fish and sea animals. Suspicious of him, Ace and Melissa go to a dinner party at Ronald Kemp's summer home. There, Ace finds a swimming pool where he sees only a few great white sharks. As Ace leaves the party, he notices that Kemp is wearing the same amber ring he found in Snowball's pool filter...
